Spicy Red Fruits over black currants coffee and well tanned leather. Round summer red and black fruit interweave with spicy varietals and great acid balance. Light grippy tannins balance the fruit while firm acid cleanses the mouth for the next sip.

About David Franz
David Franz Lehmann started producing small-batch wines from the vine to the bottle under his own name in 1998. Each bottle of wine is carefully hand printed and wrapped before being placed in a hand printed carton then sent out into the wide world to find their way to you.
Production note
The ‘Waxing Lyrical’ Mataro is a single Vineyard Wine made from two patches of vines grown on our ‘Stonewell Hill’ Vineyard. Co-fermentation essentially let these separate plantings learn to sing together. Hand plunged three times a day throughout primary fermentation (took 14 days) and then left on skins for 36 days. Aged in old oak hogsheads for over 12 months. Unfined and unfiltered.
